lyrics

warmed by your spare hymns
sing this season’s winking frost eyelids
I squint
through a woven bouquet
flowing down a flannel
head full of foxes wool

no cause for a cerebral pause
but to split a strand
with no reason but whim
so take those wildlife eyes
and scram

get up, stay up, hair twisted like
Christopher Reeves
only semi-old and spotty
well I am not the noblest guy
take heed from my faithless smile
tongue in cheek
I stoke my stogy
storm in smoke and hold me
with some might

so I noticed the cracks and grins
mistook poet stalling for a line
to write out of style
and into sight

can’t walk
I am a step behind
for that point
that point on the right
so take those
wildlife eyes

eighteen across
she looked left to her side
